Photo Comparison
Bio/ Analysis
For my photo emulation I chose to use a photograph taken by Ben Baker. He was born and raised in Australia, until he moved to New York City to begin his photography career. Ben Baker has worked for many big name magazines such as Time and ESPN, and has had the opportunity to snap pictures of some of the world's most famous people. I chose this photo to emulate for the way it presents such an important figure in our lives today, our President. Normally, you would see the President giving speeches, signing life changing laws into action, or announcing the death of the one responsible for killing so many Americans on September 11, 2001.But here, in this picture, he is smirking, having a good time. It shows the other side of the President that we normally do not get to see, the one where he is not so focused on leading our country. To emulate this photo, I had my friend wear a pair of sunglasses out in our courtyard and point exactly like Obama is in Ben Baker's photo. I took multiple different hots, some taken vertically, others horizontally, others from more towards the ground, and yet others higher up. I chose this one because it was the one that most closely matches the original photo. The main differences between the original photo and the emulated one are: different kinds of sunglasses, the subject is not in a suit and tie, the finger point is not exactly the same, and the backgrounds show a little different things.
